Cucumbers - how long will they go on producing?
« on: September 19, 2006, 09:37 »
I watched old Monty Dom on Gardeners World on Friday saying that Cucumbers have come to the end now.   It my first year of growing Cucumbers and I have mine in the greenhouse.  They're still flowering and producing lots of produce.  Its been quite a warm September but I wondered what others have experienced and how long its reasonable to expect them to continue producing.

I live in south east Kent and have just removed all of my plants from the greenhouse. They were still producing some flowers but the cucumbers were begining to get very seedy.

I haven't noticed that mine have gone seedy yet, maybe the next batch will be.   Possibly it depends on the variety.  Mine are the wonderfully named "burpless" variety.

So are your cucumbers living up to their name BigA or is there a trades descriptions issue arising here?! :tongue2:

I agree with you BigA, 'burpless are lovely aren't they?  And mine are still producing too, but some of them are coming up with more seeds in, but I'm still eating them!!!!
