Those minature free tree things ...

... minarettes or some such silly name, basically they grow to about 6 foot tall, but very slim and narrow.  Has anybody ever grown them?

We are allowed fruit trees on our site, but they have to be on dwarfing rootstock and although I've already got apples and a pear, I would really like to go for greengages, plums and maybe damsons.  And the only ones I can find are minarettes.

A lot of fruit I know but I really do have an awful lot of plot and fruit trees are easy and don't take much in the way of weeding and looking after.

Really?  You can spend the entire winter pruning your trees.  And then you'll start to train them, cordon, espallier etc. - surround your plot with trained fruit trees.  Splendid!

I have two minerette pear trees. They are currently growing in pots on my patio but I am going to plant them out on the allotment this winter. They havent produced any fruit yet as I only got them last year so I am waiting for grand things!

Haven`t grown minarettes but do have Old Greengage with the sweetest fruit. Wanted another one so ordered one on pixy root stock from www.keepers-nursery.co.uk who I found had a good selection of fruit trees with lots of info on root stocks.
Hope this helps
