What kind of paint or preservative can I use that will be safe for the girls to seal a poultry house if the wood is untreated.

The Cuprinol Garden Shades are said to be safe for animals.  They also have some gorgeous colours - plus green or brown if you want to be boring! :tongue2:

I did mine in Cuprinol and it was "Old English Green"  :tongue2: :tongue2: not just ANY old boring green - so there!!  ;) with "Country Cream" for the soffits  :D

i used creosote substitute but left it a month to wear in,i hope thats ok.Its only the run posts as the house was treated already.

I also have used creosote, then left the doors open for a couple of weeks to air it, and today I disenfected it all with Total Farm Disinfectant.

Now all I need is chickens, LOL!!!

We're in Cumbernauld. We're getting our chucks from a lady in Biggar. She had said the 1st week in May and we havnt heard from her yet, so just about to email her for an update on whats happening.
