Little Broodies, big eggs
« on: May 07, 2009, 15:25 »
Following on from an earlier posting, I have decided to take some fertilised cuckoo Maran eggs to pop under my Pekins. Here's the next question! A dozen eggs really need to go under 3 broodies, if I put them all in the same broody house, will I (they!) have any problems with multiple hatchings and multiple mums at the same time? The house is quite small and will fit three nesting birds with a bit of room to spare. They will all share a run for the first couple of weeks before going further afield and then being re-introduced to the rest of the flock. Any advice much appreciated, I've only ever done much simpler hatchings in the past. Thanks - Cabbie
