late planted calabrese
« on: December 20, 2008, 15:34 »
In septemberish i sowed some calabrese to grow in tubs in g/house. They were coming along fine but then it turned grey..........and then it turned cold early, and growth slowed right up. They are quite sturdy plants now about a foot tall.
Question is will they just make their heads when it warms up a bit in spring or do i just throw them out now?

No idea whether they will head or not but unless you are desparate for the space i'd leave them and see what happens. Oh, and let us know too....

Promised to let you know :)

The calabrese has turned into sprouting broccoli with many little florets coming
instead of one head.........but at least a crop coming.
Looks like they'll just beat the time for the toms to go in g/h
