Related are they not? Would liquid tommy feed be appreciated by spuds?

Tomato food encourages flowers and fruit - not what potatoes need.

I'll not give em any then.  ;) What do they appreciate more than anything else in the world then?

I was under the impression that potassium fed the tubers. I gave my potatoes a couple of feedings with comfrey and it seemed to help.

Also one of my rows of potatoes got the run off from some of my tomato plants that were fed weekly with comfrey. That row of potatoes grew HUGE!

John recommends a balanced general fertiliser

http://www.allotment-garden.org/vegetable/potato-fertiliser-program.php

Which is fine to get them going but many people, including commercial growers, will follow with a high potash feed once tubers are swelling. Tomato feed is ideal in this respect, as are comfrey and seaweed.

Only thing I add to my bag/box grown potatoes is a handful of Growmore every now and again.  I've got no comparators so I can't say by how much (if any) it increased yield.  But I'm happy with the yields and quality so all good.

Outdoor spuds get nothing at all after planting out although ground was manured well and BFB at planting time.

Toms get Tomorite once a week (GH) and if I remember outside
