I know this is a chicken website but a baby bird has just fallen out of it's nest and i have got it in a box inside. Wat do i do the mum wont take it back! Please help

leave it near the nest if it is safe to do so, its calling will alert the parents who will feed it on the ground, all assuming it is feathered, if not, back in the nest

If it's healthy and in no pain or distress, you could keep it for a bit if you have the time to care for it and then let it free when it's old enough. I myself certainly wouldn't cull it if it's healthy and if it has no reason to be killed yet. If it's crying for its mum you could pop it in or near the nest when mum's away and see if she feeds it. I wouldn't take any chances though, do what you feel comfortable with.

I have put it where it fell, and it's calling for it's mum (a robin) who has been down to see it. I am keeping the cats in for a bit to give it a chance. And no way would i cull it, unless the it had to be done. Thanks for your help

You say the mother won`t take it back , have you tried to put it back in the nest ? How well feathered is it, quite often robins leave the nest before they can fly properly especially if a cat sticks it`s face in the nest.
