Turkey Prices?
« on: December 24, 2008, 12:00 »
Picked up mine yesterday and was charged 2.49 / lb I always bought from the same farm, but thought this was a bit steep this year.

I will be having alook on the big boys shelves, what are you paying?

Cheers

 :)
Best Regards,

I don't think that over the odds for a farm-fresh turkey.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Think you are looking at between £8 & £10 for a 4kg frozen bird. But at this time on Christmas eve there must be some bargains about.

talking to a butcher friend of ours ,and he said because of tv programmes pushing recipes for goose and veal that there was a real glut of turkeys on the market.how soon before your local supermarket passes this on to us and reduces the price , stock up for easter lol

turkey is dearer here and you don't see whole birds at Easter so we waited till the price dropped and got one in the freezer for Easter .
love turkey , we use more than we do chicken .
