my buff orpington was sat on 4 banty eggs now today its day 21  3 of the 4 we know were fertile we took her inside last night because a couple of my ladys would of eatern the eggs. when i checked on her this morning she had stop sitting and the the eggs are cold so we put them under heat 1 has a tiny hole in it but the others are not doing anything is there any chance the others will be alive please help

It is worth keeping them under heat as you never know. It depends how long she had been off them :)

I got home the day my eggs were due to hatch to find frantic mum shut out of coop (it was one of those windy days and think door must not have been shut properly and blew open and then she went out but could not get back again) eggs were really cold and no sign of hatching.  Advice on here said put them back and see and one did hatch. The others were not developed at all. So glad I had this site to keep me hoping.

1 is hatching now but there is nothing from the other 3 as yet but ill keep my fingers crossed because im sure i heard and felt tapping on the 2 eggs we think are fertile

day 21 is only an average of when the eggs will hatch - also the hen will get off the eggs and they do go cold. has the hen gone back in looking for her eggs? If not then persevere with trying to see if they hatch.

no she has not bothered with them she is with the other hens doing what hens do i am hoping they will hatch
