And yes, normally if one egg is fertile others layed around the same time are very likely to be too. - I would check one egg from each hen... fancy and omelet for dinner?

With a ratio of 4:1 and just observing them so you know if the cockerel's been mounting them you should be pretty sure they'll be fertile.  Candling the eggs during incubation you will be able to weed out the infertile ones.
If you want omlets omelettes you need to break eggs but just to know they are fertile you don't.
