There called whatever you want them to be called lol they are a hybrid,  i thought they were Amber stars or something like that. And sex linked the boys come out yellow, hens are brown.
i have breed these and had a huge success rate with them, great little layers.
i take it you have a RIR boy with LS girls?

no i hav rir hens + ls cock!!!! i have heard they are good layers!!! My current hens have completley stopped laying they are really growing + I seem 2 have more cocks than hens well there will be chicken 4 tea!!!

Yours will just be a cross between the 2 breeds.  Hybrids are not straight crosses, they have genes from other strains bred into them too to get the good layer quality etc.

The hens take their colouring from the cockerel usually, so a LS cock crossed with RIR hens will produce the white chicks like the Amberlink or Amber star, but ambers are not colour sexed.  They are feather sexed.  We buy ours from a hatchery and occasionally we do get a cockerel in with the day olds, but the cross the other way round, i.e. RIR cock ls hen, produces the colour sexed brown birds like the warrens, hi-sex, Bovans brown (aka Goldline) etc.  We never get cockerels from them as they are dispatched at hatching.
