ive been getting a few double yolkers off 1 of my lady's and was just wondering if that is a sign of old age or weather its because she isn't laying eggs every day

Usually new layers and those near the end of their laying.  You will also get some birds that will lay them now and again or quite frequently!

Also she will run out of eggs quicker laying doubles, unless they are making up for the days when she didn't lay.

They only have a certain amounts of egg sacs inside them and once they are gone, that's it, no more eggs!
