Does anyone know whether Borlottis cross? I've grown two different varieties and they've been grown alongside French beans and runners.

I'd like to keep the seed of the more successful climbing variety-shall I just go for it?

I grow mine near french beans and runners, save the seed and they grow true.  As do the french beans and runners.  They all appear to be choosy.

Yep I agree, I've grown them alongside all other climbing beans & they've always come true

I too am interested in saving my borlotti seds but how do I do this.

Either let them dry on the plant, or when you think they have stopped growing either pick the pod or pull up the plant & hang them up in a dry airy place until the pods are dry. Then pop the beans out & dry some more in trays before storing to either sow next year or soak overnight, discard water & boil in fresh water until cooked.
