Gooseberry blackcurrant Bush

Just put a new Goosberry and blackcurrant Bush into my allotment the ground is very moist and wet underneath will I still have to water them

Yup - s good soaking or two in the first week then they should be ok - you are doing that at least in part to make sure that the roots and the soil are in contact (no air gaps in the soil). If it doesn't rain for a week or two you should probably water them again...
