A great day on the plot
« on: September 13, 2012, 19:03 »
Ive spent a fab day at the plot, got my garlic in, and 150 onion sets, looks really tidy....heres a few pics.
Onion sets, i did cover them.

View from the front of the plot.

Ive been using a roller to make paths between the beds.

Freshly rotovated, turned in lots of compost and fire ash.

Well done  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Wow! How neat you are! I don't have a straight line anywhere! I have just planted onion sets too so let's hope we get a good crop! :)

Thanks for all the comments, Nige, im on the coundon green allotments. I see we're not far from each other  :)

The bed at the front of the plot is for a flower border, the site runs a border competition each year.
The only untidy bits are the vines at the top - i was unsure what to do regarding pruning and tieing in, next year they'll be all neat lol.

Looks good Sideshoot. Are you growing your garlic and onions in the trench or at the top? I'm only asking because I don't know which is the best  :(

it probably looks deeper than it is, i made the furrow using a hoe, primarily just to make sure i had a straight line.
Both garlic and onion would be about 1/2" under the soil.
