I have a plot of about 750 square meters. This year (first year) has been a bit of a disaster - weather hasn't helped at all!!

But I ploughed it into strips, well a friend did. with grass paths in between. It has been really hard if not impossible to stop the grass and weeds growing back into the plots. I was planning not to have to plough/dig/rotovate again (ever).

My plan now, when I've finished harvesting what little is left Iabout begining November I think is just to plough or rotovate thee lot. I shall roundup the grass paths and any weeds first. After that the plot will need rotovating each year and it may be helpful if i can zip up inbetween the rows as well.

What sort of rotovator would people suggest. I was thinking of a rear tine perhaps Husquarna T430D or an old Howard. But Ive just noticed some reasonable deals on a Honda FE500. But I am sceptical of front tine designs - does anyone have experience of this model does it work? will it dig? or does it just shoot across the surface.

The Land wont be rock hard - I can have it ploughed first?

What would people suggest for a plot this size?

For a large plot like that I'd really suggest you get a large, wheel driven machine

We had an old Howard 700 for a plot measuring 30 x 5 metres, and that took long enough!

The Howard was a very powerful and able machine, but being old it did need tinkering with what seemed like every half hour

The BCS/Camon machines are a very good modern equivilent, but one would set you back a fair bit

Get a honda F610
