Hen or him?
« on: August 25, 2012, 13:27 »
I have bought a young buff Orpington, hopefully a hen! She has got very leggy and tries to get on the back of my little bantam! I'm not sure if it is a dominance thing or if she is a he! My old lady buff is still top dog and the youngster gives her a wide berth! At what age would she start laying eggs? I think she is about 15 weeks?

Thanks for any help
Pam

anytime between 24 and 35 weeks before she lays - if she is a he then he would be crowing long before that. A photo might help us guess his/her sex  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.
