A flower called Tess
« on: August 14, 2012, 14:09 »
OK, this may be one of the strangest requests, but I am trying to find a flower, preferably quite hardy and pretty that has the name Tess.

The reason for this is I want to plant one in the memory of our lurcher that we lost last year, but I have been struggling- this surprises me as I would have thought it was a popular enough name to have multiple flowers!

I have found Tess Of The d'Urbervilles as a rose from David Austin, which I quite like, but I have never been very successful with roses!

Has anyone come across any other flowers?

Many thanks for your help!
Very often quite lost- would be more lost if I could work out where I was!- But always find my way home.....

A lovely idea. :) And a lovely rose, if you do decide to plant one.

"Tess" carnation, Vanda Tessellata (orchid)... it might be cheating a bit to use parts of latin names, but it might get you more choices... ;)

Thanks Argyllie,

Just need to find someone selling the carnation, as they are a plant I really like and they do well in our garden!

I did find another rose called Tessa, but its a tad on the PINK! side - I am not a pink person, and there is virtually no pink flowers in our garden!- a few 'Dusky pale reds' have got in!
