hi all ive just planted 50 runners from my strawberry bed,is it ok to mulch them over with fresh grass cutting,if so, can i actually cover them

Hi M1... Don't cover them and I would not use fresh grass cuttings as a mulch as they can get quite hot inside the pile like in a compost heap.. Rather some dry straw just to keep them from drying out in our current heat wave... finally some sun!!!
Now a member of the 10 Ton club.... 2013  harvested 588 Kg from 165 sq mt..

Make sure it is dry STRAW,  I used hay and after a rainy night it all went soft and soggy. :mad:
