Yesterday there was a strawberry on one of my plants that was nice and pink - almost ready for picking! (1st of the season for me) - I got to the allotment this morning to find it had gone!!!!!!  :evil:

Who ate my strawberry? Birds / mice?

Birds are faster than we give them credit for. Mice will go for them too, but during the night. Sounds like you need netting asap.

I netted my strawberries today as they were being eaten. Result - one snared blackbird!!!

I know it's them I've caught them at it before!

You'll have to nip to the allotment called 'Tesco'. Mind you, you'll have complaints about the lack of flavour, but at least the fruit will all be exactly the same size.

slugs are quite partial to the odd strawberry as well - lots of beer traps and any other solution to kill the pointless slimy cretins  :twisted:
