We have 5 birds all of the same age. All bar 1 have been laying now for 3 weeks. We have had nothing from our Sussex Ranger Galadriel. Are they normally a bit slow on the uptake or could there be a problem.

Your pullets will lay when they feel like it.  Pullets sold as POL may range from 12-16 weeks old, and they will normally start to lay between 17 and 36 weeks of age.

Just be patient, my chooks were predicted to start laying about 10 weeks after we had them by our owner, but didn't start laying til about 20 weeks after.

We thought all three of our's were into a routine, but the black rock type hen has given up completely now.

Well, not completely, she still goes in and clucks away to herself but nowt happens. She is very well and sparky, so it might have just been the awful weather. Time will tell.
