Silly girls!!!!!   No, what had happened was when I uploaded my new photo's to Photobucket, I'dleft the file names as the defaults on my camera, and I got the wrong pics up.  So I renamed them, and now I've got the wrong pics on my previous post!!!!!

I'm confused now!!!!!!   It's those darn chickens.   i blame Mel Gibson!!!!        :?

Well on Monday I had taken a days holiday in order to get some lottie time.  I had bought some corn and barley mix for the chooks as a treat for them and had left the bag in the metal shed out of the way.

Anyhoo, I thought they were quiet when I was talking to one of the old boys who had stopped by and they were munching away at the bounty of food they had just discovered!  I tried to shoo them off and pick the bag up to put it out of their reach and the bag caught on something and tore a hole in the bottom of it, so the seed just spilled out onto the floor.

They must have thought it was their birthdays!  Silly chooks!

Well the down side is, I think I found the nut from the bottom of the galvanised feeder!  It is inside a dead chick I found yesterday.  It must have choked the poor thing.  I'm in the wrong game.  I hate losing chooks.

But the up side is, they have freedom at last, so hopefully they'll stop pecking each other and trying to destroy their house!

First sight of Freedom!

Thanks Munty, I did make all the pics the same size, but the 2nd one keeps coming up large!

Not all of them will come out yet, probs too cold for them!!!

Although I've got a big vent in each end, and the top third of the left hand door is mesh, they are so warm in there tht I get a lot of condensation.  Is there anything else I can do to get rid, as it makes the straw damp?

It's only a couple hours drive Happyvalley!!!!  lol  Maybe if we go to my daughter in st Osyth, I could drop you off a couple, but I was going to give her a miss this Christmas because I don't want to leave 300 chooks on their own overnight!

What leave the big door open, not just the pophole?  I can only open one door as the other one is fenced off as we are going to re-seed the ground around it for the spring.

I'll get Brian to make some more vents.  It won't be too drafty for them as they are only 10 weeks old? Thanks Munty!
