You're Geography is fine HV!  St Osyth is Caravan City as its surrounded by the blooming things, and its 5 miles south of Clacton.  Nice little village, but gets so clogged up in the summer with holiday makers!!!

No they are not noisy at all Rosemary, as they are only 10 weeks old, they still make little chicky cheepy noises!

Everybody says the same as you Aunty.  They think of them as little yellow chicks still, but at only 2 days old their white wing feathers started growing, and now some of them weigh 900 gms, from 40gms 10 weeks ago!

Brian and I stood for ages n the cold watching them.  Not all came out today, some just sat in the doorways and looked out, and it took quite a while before any ventured onto the grass.

It also took them a while to realise that when it gets dark you go back in!!!  One even decided  she was going to sleep outside.  I had to pick her up and shove her through the pophole!  Otherwise I think I would have had frozen chicken tomorrow!!!!

Although I kept looking, I never saw any of that string, but the chicks are fine!!

Some of them weigh 1.25kg now!  although they still won't go in the house at night.  We keep trying different combinations of light.  I stopped putting the light on at night to get them used to it, and they were still sleeping under the bulb that was out, but we still have to shoo them in the house when it gets dark.

Then we started putting the light on again to show them the way in, but they STILL just stand there!!!!

And periodically we still get chicks being pecked, even though they are outside all day now, so I have 9 of them in the 'hospital' shed at the moment.

I've got an order for another 12 from my eldest daughter's boyfriend's mum and dad, unless they get put off by the bird flu AGAIN!!!!
