Hi, I am growing peppers and chillies in the greenhouse in grow bags and pots and they are being systematically eaten. I have raised the grow bags off the floor as I noticed there were wood lice underneath. I have put plastic rings around each plant and as a last resort sprayed them with a veggie insecticide but they are still getting munched.  . It starts on the leaves first and a couple are now just stalks. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like slugs are around Jenny.

You may not see them in the day time, but they rush out at night - as do snails!

Can you poke around under the bags and pots? If you can, you'll soon spot them of course!

We often find very small snails hiding, and they're the worst, as they are so light, they can climb anywhere!

Best of luck - don't give up on the plants either, they may well recover!

Thanks Growster. I haven't seen any slime but will try some pellets. I didnt realise they could climb so high!

We had several up in the ivy on 'The Turrets', Jenny, snails I mean!

They'd got up to about 13' above G.L.!...

Pellets are probably the best solution.

I did once find a monster snail making its stately way across the ceiling in my hallway. They must have fantastic traction
