I like gartenpearly Rachel, little toms and they have a pearly sheen to them (hence the name? ;))

Pennydog loves them too.  She follows me around when I am picking tomatoes, hoping that I'll drop a few!

I've got Alicante, Tigerella, Marmande and a couple of Red Alerts in pots... All initially burnt by the late frosts, but recovering well, fingers crossed...

Sungold
Alicante
San Marzano
Roma
Garden Pearl
Tumbler
Baby Plum
Mostly in greenhouses at mime & Mum's which is just as well because I think I'm going to lose my outdoor ones.  :(
On the bright side all the aubs, ground cherries & peppres are doing well.  :)

I've got 16 cordons behind my little greenhouse in big pots and old compost bags, but the canes do move around in the wind, so a bit worried about how they'll do too!

Re Devon's post (the quote system doesn't seem to be working properly, it might be me),

Is it OK now or does it need investigation?

Tumbler in tubs and hanging baskets at home. These have been the most consistent croppers for me for many years, and the freest from blight. They always have strong healthy stems and a profusion of ripe fruit.

Then this years experiments: Hundreds and Thousands seem to be very well-recommended but my plants are very spindly and etiolated and although there's quite a lot of flower I can't see them developing as a hanging basket type as the packet illustrations suggest. Has anyone else had that experience?

Inca Plums on the allotment - looking firm and tall and promising to be very fruitful. Also a late germination of Roma Nero plums - only about 8 or 9 inches high as yet but all plants looking good and I'm very hopeful of these. I have them staked up at home in planter bags and will be planting some out in the allotment - when the weather improves!

I grew:

10 x sungold from seed (I have 9 remaining as 1 was given my Mother), all have fruit set.
3 x beef (I have 1 remaining, I think I lost one to the wind, gave one to Mother again)
6 x plum (4 remaining - 2 to Mother)

I don't kno what varieties the plum and beef are as they were in a pack from poundland!

The sungold I bought whilst 20p from T&M, I didn't expect them to germinate let along grow into plants and bare fruit, I only chose & bougt them because they were just 20p!

Looking forward to different ones for next year, thinking of some bush varieties as I think mine are all cordons..

Hannah :)

My sister gave me a variety pack for Christmas, so we have Ildi (yellow cherry), red Pear, orange berry (both cherry-type), San Marzano, Costoluto fiorentino, and Tigerella... 2 of each and many extras given to friends.

Never grown any of them before, but all doing well in the new 8x6 greenhouse, with the baby cukes, peppers, aubs and chillis...no room for me in there now!

Tigrella
Black Cherry
Vilma

and they are all in the greenhouse.  It's too cold for them (and me) outside
