Hi all have just got back from collecting eggs and sweeping and poo picking with my 2 year old, she was rubbing her head so I had a look and saw a tiny bug then she was scratching her back and again a little bug, so started looking and bugs on clothes and sides of canvas shoes, needless to say I had a fit and stripped everything off threw shoes out and clothes In the machine us in the shower!!! Do you think this was lice or could it be something else??? Please hellllpppp thanks in advance

Were they ginger in colour? If so lice 

I would recommend frontline, once treated all crawlies that live on the hens will be gone in @ 24 hours. 

A vet will prescribe a sprayable frontline which is what I use or you can get kitten strength drops from pet shops etc.

Spooky - the same for me this morning! Quick squirt of frontline and for the dog too.  The daily dustbath isn't enough it seems.

Yes I think they were a sort of gold colour!  thank you I will pop to pet shop tomorrow

Ok so went to treat for lice and removed all bedding and noticed red mites! Gutted!!! Have removed bedding washed everything with poultry shield and dusted birds pen and bedding with poultry shield and johnsons d dust, how long does this take to work? Will it work? As I did see live mites still, what to do next??? One of the birds feels a bit light to so is there something I should give to help her back on her feet! Feel ashamed I never noticed! Thanks x
