Advice on using Chicken Manure Pellets
« on: April 28, 2012, 15:40 »
Hi,

I know chicken pellets are good for brassica's, is it to late to use them now I'm ready to put some cauliflowers and sprouts in?

Also do you sprinkle them on top or dig them in?

Don't leave them on top if you have a dog! Our two like them even more than the fresh stuff! Black poo too! Yeuch!

I used to just throw the pellets all over the plot but now I find if I put a few handfuls in a watering can and half fill it then leave it till next time i'm up at the lotty I fill the watering can up, this mixes up the sediment, then I put around the areas I want.  Keeps the fox's etc away as the pellets seem to attract them.

As AlotArds said they attract foxes so if you have lots of the fury fiends in you area take care.

Foxes on our plots will dig up crops to get at the chickens!!
