Spotty cucumber leaves
« on: April 24, 2012, 18:25 »
I bought 2 small cucumber plants on Sunday. I put them in my unheated greenhouse and just noticed that they both have little yellow spots all over the leaves.
They have 2 leaves on each plant with new growth in the centre. But now I have limp spotty leaves.

Anyone know why they are suffering with this.

It is probably too cold for them.

I agree they really don't like it as cool as it now, and even colder at night - even in a greenhouse.
Mine has been down to 5C this week, even with the bubble wrap insulation Brrr

We're forecast for a daytime temp of 3C tomorrow, with a wind chill of -3C.

There's a lot of plants out there that are not going to like that!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Too early IMO, even if the weather wasn't being unseasonably cold.

When I got them the weekend they were just on a trolley in a large unheated greenhouse at the garden centre.
I will bring them in tonight and see how they go.

Thanks everyone, from the phantom cucumber killer  :D
