Problems with my Cauli's
« on: April 17, 2012, 11:37 »
Hi,

I was wondering if my Cauli's are going a bit wrong. I have posted a link below to a picture. They just look like the are growing longer rather than wider.

they are good looking ones apart from

1. firmly tighten the soil around as the wind batters them, lose soil will let them bolt or not form the curd. I would rather planted them when they are bit more stronger.

2. too much of slug pellets.  :) you dont need that much and hope you are using the Ferric Phosphate one. there is johns video about how much of slugpellets to use somewhere in this site.

Bazh - Thanks, yeah the one in the middle does look a little worse for wear.

prakash_mib - I will firm them up a bit more. I am using growing success slug pellets due to having a cat & also an autistic lad who likes to mess about at the veg patch.

thanks for the advice, everyday is a school day

Alistair if that is there final position the one middle right in the pic could do with planting a little deeper.

It might just be me but they look very close together?
I agree they need to be firmed in a bit too.

Difficult to tell from the pic I initially thought they were in a seedbed.
