We have had some huge eggs recently as well - and some very tiny ones:

The largest one was 104g the middle 'normal' one was 72g and the tiny one was 42g.

Did you weigh yours Whiskygalore?

My biggest egg was 125g and my smallest 25!!!!

One of the fitters at the window place I clean for asked me the other day, who was laying the bantam eggs!  I told him that when chooks first start to lay they lay small eggs, which gradually get bigger (I kept it simple as he is a bit, so didn't go into the 'but sometimes they can lay large or small eggs at any time' bit in case he got confused!)

He must have thought that you get your small eggs from small chooks, medium eggs from medium chooks and large eggs from large chooks!!

He also can't grasp that they don't all lay an egg everyday, sometimes I get 4 eggs from the 12 POL's sometimes I get 9, but I can't sell him anymore than the chooks will lay!  I'm having trouble at the moment supplying him with his 5 dozen a week, and he's going on holiday next week and asked me if I can double up on his order!!!!!!! Hardly!!!!!  I tried asking the teenagers to lay 2 a day, but they just looked at me as if I was nuts!!!!! lol
