They make it sound sooooo easy but I am very confused !
I have 5 Legbars all a day old two are pale greyish with Cream on top of head - boys? the other three, well one is definately a girl - chipmunk cream and brown markings, distinct stripe no spot.
Its the other two, very dark brown/grey with a black stripe no spot - girls? 

Also I have one cuckoo maran, what makes a girl I have read it is very dark almost black with a distinct spot on the top of the head is this right?

All I can say is give me a silkie any day, not at a day old of corse - haha  :blink:

If you can post some photos I am sure someone will be able to tell you what they are.  Is there a chance that the ones you can't tell are cross bred?

Hey, all bin a bit hectic havent had a chance to log on in a while. Must take photos!
Hatched the eggs myself from a reputable breeder so definately purebred.

Never had a problem with my silkies but a bit of a rookie with normal hens - lol  Think I will just have to wait and see.
I have two 7wk old legbar/skyler, think I have one of each but the supposed girl is muck bigger, the smaller one (boy?) is much more out there and bold, a little confrontational with the others.
