NB Leaf mines on leeks, onions, shallots and ornamental Allium species in the West Midlands are likely to be caused by the recently arrived allium leaf-mining fly. See www.defra.gov.uk/planth/pestnote/allium-info.pdf

That's nothing. I'm having similar looking dotted chewing marks on a few welsh onion leaves. I shall try to take a (small) photo later on. :(

Well, I thought you were going to say that. I didn't. Overly eager, I tried to take a way too close-up. I shall try again, not now though as I somehow completely racked a wrist, so not getting anywhere at the mo. Garlic is in though, so rest can wait. :roll:
