Why Petrol Nathan ? and how big is your lawn ?
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

go for a qualcast rotary .service it every year properly  clean it down when ya done using it and wipe the blade over with an oily rag.( with spark plug cap off and layed to one side .) wash all the grass n rubish of the inside of the bed and wipe that down in winter agian with an oily rag .oil cables and it wil last for years

 Gotcha bit big for a lekky one, prefer a petrol myself but my garden don't warrant one, Mountfield have always been a favourite of mine had a second hand one for years always ran and cut well.

Rotary's are the best all rounders, but a cylinder will always give the best cut but need a good lawn and only work to their best on dry lawns. If you going for a cylinder then Qualcast but they are about 400 new from what I can remember.

Don't know anyone with one to ask about the HP470, but I reckon a lot of problems come from leaving old petrol in etc etc And I think they offer a 2 year G'tee on their mowers ?

Yeah cylinders are heavy esp in the wet and not much good on long grass.

What about a 2nd hand hayter they are supposed to be the bizz ?

Mountfield used to give 2 yrs on all their mowers when I was at B&Q, but we are talking nearly 3 yrs ago now so things probably have changed.
