Hi all, some of my hens are drinking cold water melted from the snow/ice they are not going near the drinker? Will they be ok or should i lock them up in their small run

I would think they'll be fine. If they free range, they have access to muddy puddles etc. At least snow melt is clean

Don`t worry, .........mine eat snow!

Mine love the ice I take off the drinkers they eat it and then suddenly shudder and fluff the feathers up!

Animals often prefer the water that falls from the sky, in whatever form, to tap water due to the chemicals they can taste in it.
