Morning all

Aldi are doing a super offer at the moment on fruit canes.  Three mixed canes for £2.50!

I've managed to pick up a mixture of raspberry, yellow raspberry, blackcurrant, redcurrant and gooseberry.

Can you please offer advise as to when I should plant these in to the ground at the allotment?

Also, if there are any good tips on the planting I would be most grateful.

As soon as ground is not frozen.

It would help if you could plant them in large pots to protect the delicate root ends from drying out untill the ground is ready.  Or cover the piece of ground you had in mind with black plastic sheeting to thaw any frost and get it that little bit warmer.      Cheers,    Tony.
