With veggies in particular, I progressively bought more open pollinated varieties mostly because a) I find the flavours superior to a lot of hybrids and b) seed is pretty true to selection and costs nothing after initial purchase.  Other than a variety of prolific paste tomato I prefer which is a hybrid, I now have all open pollinated (Heirloom) veggies.




And I must say that everyone who eats my produce love the taste.

And you also contribute to preserving varieties, which otherwise keep disappearing nowadays. Good on you :!:  :!:

Harvested today: pot marigold, kale and radish seed, all well behaved and nicely dried on plant, just before the big pour down (as forcast???) for tomorrow), beans are still not ready, hoping for a dry spell after the rain.
