Do I need to rinse Poultryshield?
« on: October 31, 2011, 14:58 »
I'm doing my first scrubdown, and using Poultryshield. Do I need to rinse it then dry, or just wipe the worst of it off?
How dry does the woodwork need to be before I let the chooks back in?
Thank for your help.

Hi BG
I first give the coop a good scrub out using warm water and a detergent. After that mix about a litre of Poultryshield as per the instructions and then apply it using a plastic garden type sprayer ensuring all the nooks and crannies are sprayed. Leave it for as long as possible and hopefully it will dry out. Alternatively after a couple of hours wipe the excess off to help it dry. Best applying it early on on a nice breezy day leaving the doors open to help it dry. Once its dry the chooks are OK to go back in.

As it gets harder to get everything to dry out naturally given the short days and damp weather is there an alternative?

I've been cleaning my hen house in the way described but struggle to get to dry enough now
