Frost and beetroot

They do not smell like normal beetroot but do they look like beetroot?

If suspicious they are better left than you poisoned.

A photo would help.

The sort of frost we get now do no harm to beet. Only when we get prolonged hard frosts like last December do they freeze and go soft.

Pull a bit of earth over them to protect them.

I quite often get a few white beets growing from Boltardy seed. They taste the same as the red ones.

I just leave beetroot in the ground until we want to eat it.

They were fine last year despite the snow etc
