Globe artichoke advice please
« on: September 09, 2011, 19:51 »
I planted some Globe Artichoke plants at the end of June, they've taken OK, as you can see:

I've read that in the first year I should remove the flower buds, but I haven't had any, nor any stalks. Is all OK with them, please?

They look just fine  :D

They will die back, and then you should get some buds next year.

As they are still very young plants, don't expect masses though. That will come, never fear  :D :D

Thank you. I knew I'd have to wait for a year or two, was just worried something was wrong. Also planted some asparagus crowns - good job I'm a patient person!
Thanks again.
