My Little Boys growing up
« on: September 09, 2011, 16:15 »
George aged 14 weeks hasn't made one noise since we got the girls 3 weeks ago and then just this afternoon, completely out of the blue, he let off 3-4 crows. Not very good ones I must admit but crows all the same. Whats all that about? In the middle of the afternoon as well. I think he even surprised the girls.
After that all quiet again but then Milly did begin to do a bit of rosey which I've not heard before. They seem to be suddenly finding their voices ???

Well, yes, cockerels don't just crow in the morning ;)  Some crow all day long... it just takes practice to get really good

One of Joyfulls Sabelpoot cockerels stayed with us for a few days before going to the farm.  He was very handsome and would sit on the hat of the feeder, crow once in the morning again in the afternoon and once to send the hens to bed.  The crow in the afternoon always seemed to to take him by surprise as if he suddenly remembered he was a cockerel and had to crow to prove it ::)
