I have a welsummer that's about 13 wks now and looks very similar to yours, I'm pretty sure she's a girl though going by the markings on her when she was a chick, (they can be sexed early on). My RIR's (I think one is crossed with something as she has hairy legs) are 10 weeks old and from what I can see look the same as yours, I think they are also girls. I bought my chicks from Woodside wildfowl park nr Markyate, just the other side of Dunstable. They were sold as welsummers but I realised when I got home I'd actually only got one welsummer. I know I should have taken them back but my daughter had fallen in love with them and wouldn't let me! If it's not too far for you you could try giving them a ring to see if they have any more but it's a bit late in the season.
I'll try to get some recent photos tomorrow so you can compare them to yours.

Hi all,

sorry have not looked in for a while.

I could not find any welsummer pullets for sale. But I am going to have another look soon. The two I thought were boys are definately crowing now. Have just posted Chris on the swap forum.

No eggs yet!

Bev

p.s My husband suggested I breed from Phoebe and Louise but I thought it might be too difficult to get homes for cross chicks.
