hi, i just brought 4 new pekin (mottled) . thinking of buying cock. i live in the city east london, my neighbors are quite spaced out , do you think the cock bird will be too loud to keep.

why do you need a cockerel? are you planning on breeding? If so what will you do with all the young cockerels that hatch? Remember cockerels start to crow at 4am in the summer and at that time of the day the noise does travel and a lot of neighbours don't take too kindly to that!!

I have to agree with Joyfull. Although seeing a cockerel strutting his stuff and crowing is a wonderful sight, I'd hate you to get one, have the neighbours complain, then you have to find the poor boy a new home. Im sure that your new girlies will give you many hours of pure enjoyment on their own, and will probably thank you for not getting a cockerel, a ration of 4-1 means they wouldnt be getting a minutes peace!
