Incubator advice

Hi
I started keeping chickens in June and have become addicted, well i decided to get a new coop and this time hatch some myself. I bought a Brinsea mini advance today and was having a play around with it, now you can set how often you want it to turn the eggs but i have no idea can anyone advise how often is best??

If you were doing it by hand you'd do it at least twice a day.  The Brinsea rocking cradle rocks through 90degs every 30mins or so.  I don't know about the mini advance though but I'm surprised they don't advise you in the instructions. see

Here's the instruction manual the egg turning info is on page 12 in section 10.  Setting is dependant on egg diameter.

no it suggests which angle to set for turning but leaves how often up to you???  :( you can set anything from every 15 mins to every 3 hours i'm wondering if every hour would be ok or would it be to much dont want scrambled chicks  :D

Once per hour sounds fine to me I doubt it's that critical.

I have a Brinsea Mini Advance and the factory turn settings (set for hen's eggs) are every 45 minutes. I have hatched over 50 chicks using the standard factory settings with no trouble at all, so personally I would leave it at that.
