Poultry tonic question
« on: July 06, 2011, 20:08 »
I've decided Star needs a bit of a tonic as she's looking rather peelie-wallie so today I've added a tonic to the water.  How long does it usually take before an improvement would be seen? :)
May this day be blessed with gifts, understanding and friends.  Merlin 2001-2012 Pandora 2001-2013 xxx

depends what is wrong with her - what on earth does peelie wallie mean? I assume it's some Scottish saying?

  so now I know.

As she has just raised a brood of chicks then she may decide to go into a moult hence the looking pale. What tonic have you given her? does it have any B vitamins in it?

It's Battles Poultry Drink, the Johnsons one of the size I wanted was cracked.

It's not got vitB in but has Phosphorus, Iron, Potassium, Manganese and Copper and as my tame Chemist is living it up at Star city, Russia ::) (still jealous, much) I took advice from the sales assistant whose also a chicken keeper :)

After my hen raised her chicks, she went into a moult.  The tonic should be very beneficial to her! ;)
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

She does look more oven ready every day ::) and still shows no sign of leaving the wee rascals even though they paid no attention to her calling them in tonight :nowink:
