I've been experimenting with growing potatoes in some sacks and they seem to be doing very weel. However, now the plants have establish some nice bushy leaves I am getting some holes, mainly in one of the two sack contaioners. the other one is fairly clear. They are right next to each other as well. It looks to me like just a few "bugs" and not an infestation...yet. Can't see any caterpillars or signs of eggs on the leaves but I did find an earwig last night. Could that be the culprit ? They managed to destroy a large Buddleja last year but I managed to get rid of them all...





I must confess to sitting out at midnight with a torch...but couldn't see anything of note. No slime trails either.

Whatever it is the overall damage is minimal and I certainly wouldn't be losing sleep over it!

That confirms my suspicion   and thanks for confirming that the damage is not extensive enough to worry about. If only nature was perfect  

My money is on earwigs. I pinched a couple more off last night. I don't think theres that many anyway and the leaves are so bushy this year I'll leave it be.
