Do you get 10 emu's with them? OK I'll leave quietly.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Don't know if you can judge from this, but this is my first plot. 30m x 10m - the metric nearest.

The bottom of the plot is where the compost bins are.

Hey

If you are a working person or dont have heaps of time then i would suggest maybe going for a half plot? I work and have a full plot and it kills me!! I love it but damn its hard work!!

Yes, but you'll be all the healthier for doing that work, rather than sitting on your bum watching TV. Far more rewarding and as you say - you love it!

Apsaragus seeds soon BTW - drying nicely.

you're lucky to have the choice.  I am waiting for half that space and have been waiting a long time.  still waiting despite having been told weeks ago that at least 5 plot holders are giving up.  meanwhile all the plots are getting weedier and weedier while they all dither about and wait for the end of the rental year while doing no maintenance on their plots.  ...grumbles quietly to self and slinks off into corner to mope a bit more

Chance would be a fine thing! My girlfriend does enough TV watching for both of us!

Ours is a 10 pole plot (300ish sq yds) and it is big but on the whole I think it is a managable size once its up and running. We are still having to clear ours of rubbish as well as more normal stuff but are growing on part of it until we get more beds ready and we both work. So give it a go. :D
Lynne.

So much to do, but so little time.

That's a full sized plot.
In my limited experience I have worked out that you need either time or money to be successful at your allotment.
Most of the people at my site are old retired boys but the ones that aren't have all the time-saving gizmos and gadgets and can buy plus all the best pesticides, fertilizers etc.
Also think about what your nearest and dearest will be doing while you're out digging, or whether he/she will join in with you.
I think you can grow enough veg for a family of 4 on a half plot if you plant intensively.
