« on: June 13, 2011, 14:15 »
Went down the veggie patch this morning and found carnage, hanging baskets of toms blown down and ended up on a tom plant below it which got snapped in half, another 3 tomato plants were lying face down, have had to tie up a few more, but at least it all got plenty of water i guess, anyone have any casualties?

Yes, I had to redo a few poles supporting my runner beans and Alderman peas because a horse chestnut branch had ended up on them :) Luckily there didn't seem to be any damage to the plants, but glad that didn't happen when they were all the way up the poles.

All my radish plants blown down flat and my squash took a battering too with some stem damage. The brassicas were obviously better at bending with the wind and didn't seem to suffer at all.

Lost a couple of the physallis I've been nurturing when they got smashed by a falling branch and a few toms needed tying.
All the trays I use to sit pots in are brimming with 3" water.....must go empty them.....
