keep some cow muck to one side to put in your spud trenches in the spring
feed the soil not the plants

I get a (big) trailer load of cow muck delivered in April when farmers are keen to shift it after moving their beasts out to pasture, sheet it and let it cook until the following Feb/March when it's applied to the land and the cycle starts anew.

Some of the fresh muck is added to the compost heap to 'kick start' the rotting of plant material.

In MK you can drive out and get manure free from farm gates.

The signs say Bags Of Manure Free,

All I want to know is how do they get the horses to do it in the bags :cry:

I wouldn't worry about weed seeds as if the 4 stomachs of cattle / sheep don't break them down then the heat generated in the heat will.
Same with compost - you can compost almost anything so long as you can get the heap hot enough to sterilise any weed seeds.
