Chicks using a ramp

Another daft question!!

I have my broody in one of those split level coops with the run underneath and i am beginning to worry what to do about the chicks getting up and down the ramp. Will they be able to negotiate a ramp after a few days?

Hi, we have our broody in the same sort of coop and at first the chicks could get out of the ramo but not back in again but after about 5 days they had mastered the ramp.

We just made sure they had food and water on both levels and that they were all back in the coop again every evening. It is amazing how much they develop - they could fly up to one of the cross beams at 2 weeks old!

Thanks SurferChick that's good to know, I wasn't sure whether they would need to be kept warm by mum if some were upstairs and some were down but presumably they will be o.k. as long as they are together at night!! I can't wait until they hatch, fingers crossed :happy: :happy:
