Has anyone grown pumpkin 'Neon' before?  I've got three young plants waiting to go out when the weather's warm enough.  The information that came with them said they are 'semi-bush' but didn't say how much space they needed or whether you still need to go and stop runaway shoots from invading other people's allotments.

I haven't grown Neon, but my butternuts are classes as semi-bush and the shoots are not nearly as long as trailing ones. I grw one plant either side of a 4ft wide bed, and they used about 4 x 4ft of space. So I suppose they are like one of the big courgette plants space-wise

I grew one of these last year.. It took up a little space but nothing compared to others.. we only got 2 pumpkins off ours though (little hole in the ground filled with manure) 1 small and 1 perfect halloween pumpkin



Am still waiting for my plants to appear this year though.. wondering if the seeds got boiled in the conservatory heat! Wonder if its too late to start again

Thanks, both!  Dan78, that's a very impressive pumpkin!  Did it taste good, too, or are they mainly good for carving?
